CitiWide Computer and Nursing Assistant Program in partnership with Department of Employment Services (DOES) is offering DC Youth Ages 16-21 Free Training and Internship Program as follows: § Basic Educational Services (ABE/ESL/GED) – improve literacy and numeracy including English as a second language; attainment of a High School Diploma (HSD) or General Educational Development (GED); explore post-secondary education or advanced training options § Work Readiness and Life Skills – attainment of an occupational skills training in one of the following area: o IC3 Computer Technology Training: (Microsoft Office Software, e.g. Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc) o Nursing Assistant Training- (NA) 130-140 Hours of Classroom training and clinical rotationso Home Health Aide Training – (HHA) (75 Hours of Classroom instruction and clinical rotations§ Placement and Transition Support – placement in further education and/or employment; transition support; internships, pre-apprenticeship program; college or technical schools. Each participant will receive case management and follow-up services for up to twelve (12) months following the participant’s exit from the program. Access to wrap-around supports to address the participants’ needs will also be provided. Our in-house case manager will document and monitor each participant’s progress. Participants who attend the program consistently will receive a weekly stipend. Our mission is to integrate technology into the educational, vocational and socioeconomic conditions oflow-income and disadvantaged District of Columbia (D.C.) residents.
