Information Architect

My organization, the American Psychological Association, is currently seeking a smart, energetic Information Architect to join our Web site tea= m as part of a major APA Web site redesign currently underway and beyond.

This Information Architect will:

* Lead the IA initiative, including setting priorities and schedules for improvements
* Direct the collection of statistical data to analyze user behavior patterns that drive IA and usability improvements to the site
* Advocate for the user experience and educate APA stakeholders as to lA best practices
* Define scope and set priorities and schedules for taxonomy, navigation, controlled vocabularies and search interface tasks
* Analyze site traffic, sales and other revenue figures, and site search data to recommend and implement changes to the Web site
* Draft and recommend policies and standards for ongoing development of = the APA Web site
* Work closely with publishing specialists to maintain the integrity of the IA
* Serve as point person for organizational inquiries relating to IA and usability
* Recommend and conduct user testing as required

Job qualifications

*Bachelor degree (some graduate-level education UI or IA design preferred)
*Three - five years of information architecture experience in developing wireframes, user flows, personas and content object models

*Five years experience with large-scale Web design (including content management, project management, user testing, site analysis, Web 2.0 interfaces)
*Ability to communicate and collaborate with senior staff, designers and content authors in all stages of production

*Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and web analytics software

*Excellent management skills, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

*Ability to prioritize work of vendors/firms and staff
