The
Montgomery County Business Roundtable for Education (MCBRE) serves as
the bridge for business-education partnerships in Montgomery County.
MCBRE works with the top leadership of
Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS), the 16th largest
system in the nation, and local business leaders to develop programs
that prepare students for success in work and life. MCBRE does this
through programs that connect classroom learning to the workplace and
improve the quality of school system operations.
The Program Manager is responsible for the successful planning,
implementation and management of programs. The Program Manager is also
responsible for administrative support for the organization.
Key responsibilities include:
Program Management
-For assigned programs, overseeing and managing the program life cycle,
from program inception to execution to evaluation
-Supporting more complex projects in a deputy capacity with the Director
of Programs
-Developing project plans, ensuring projects remain on schedule and
under budget, and measuring the success of programs
-Establishing and maintaining strong communications between and among
all stakeholders (School officials, MCBRE Board of Advisors, Board of
Directors, etc…) Operations / Administrative
-Maintaining and regularly updating MCBRE's web site
-Managing vendors and suppliers to ensure office needs are met and the
office functions smoothly
-Maintaining database of individuals/ organizations/ vendors working
with MCBRE in all capacities
-Producing reports as needed for the Director of Programs and Executive
Director
-Covering phones, opening and sorting mail, maintaining files,
responding to general inquiries
Board Support
-Supporting Board members by responding quickly and efficiently to all
questions from the Board
-Preparing all materials for Board meetings, and clearly and concisely
communicating information to Board members Financial Management
-Entering expenses and cash inflows into QuickBooksPro
-Managing cash flow
-Supporting accountant with bookkeeping tasks

Requirements
-A passion for making a sustainable difference in students' lives and
the future of education in a more competitive, global economy
-At least two years of similar work experience as a Program Manager or
in another capacity.
-Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and QuickBooksPro
-Ability to develop and successfully implement short-term and long-term
goals and objectives.
-Ability to see around the bend and anticipate fellow staff members'
needs
-Ability to speak and write articulately, including with elected
officials and corporate executives
-Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and meet or exceed
objectives without supervision
- Ability to team well in small office by maintaining positive attitude
and being fully accountable and acting with utmost integrity
-Bachelor's degree required
-Event management experience a plus
-Basic knowledge of HTML preferred
-Your own vehicle
-Experience at non-profits and with civic or education-oriented
organizations is preferred but not essential
Salary: $30k-$40k, based on experience
