Successful candidate will work with EHR Program Staff, Management Team
and AAAS Technical Support Staff on leading-edge technical development,
programming and implementation of all aspects of assigned EHR project
websites including standardizing implementation of web sites established
for similar purposes; establishing template structures with varying
levels of complexity and flexibility for programs with similar
functional requirements; translating goals and strategies into
electronic ideas/images and implementing them utilizing leading edge Web
development technologies; designing, creating, and modifying database
solutions; working with AAAS Technical Services staff to implement
documentation procedures for all aspects of EHRs Web presence including
old, current and newly developed web sites; serving as technical liaison
reviewing the work of external contractors; working as a member of a
team(s) to develop and implement a programmatic strategy with regard to
use of the Web, including establishing a coherent and manageable image
of EHR, creating procedures for handling these activities; working with
EHRs design team and other graphic design and technical teams along with
program teams as needed; training EHR staff (individually or in groups)
with regard to routine programming, uploading corrections and text on
the Web using Dreamweaver, Flash, database-driven and other related
programs; researching and recommending resources, equipment and software
used to achieve cutting edge, innovative solutions to EHR*s public
electronic presence . This is a full-time regular position anticipated
to extend for a period of one-year.
Qualifications: Position requires extensive university or college level
training leading to a
Bachelors degree;
three to five years of related
experience managing and implementing all aspects of a high profile web
presence for web activities with user visits of more than 500,000 per
month; proven technical skills with regard to leading-edge software
technologies used in Electronic Publishing on the Web (use of and
leading training); strong communication skills; adaptable work style;
strong time and project management skills including experience managing
competing demands and schedules and
setting priorities
in a fair and equitable way; ability to work independently and as part
of a team; strong problem-solving skills; ability to work under pressure
with many interruptions while maintaining focus on delivery schedule to
produce high quality e-publications efficiently and cost-effectively;
previous experience supervising staff, freelancers, contractors, interns
preferred; computer skills (must have experience working with two or
more development technologies such as ASP scripting languages,
Microsoft.NET Framework, Java/J@EE, PHP, C++,
Dreamweaver/ Firefox, FLASH plus experience using, modifying or
designing database solutions using Microsoft SQL, Oracle or MySQL);
ability to code so that it maximizes the use of software capabilities
available and maintains the full accessibility of our work to the
general public.
